I have enjoyed combining my teaching and performing careers for many years.

I studied at Trinity College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London before getting a scholarship to study at the Amsterdam Conservatoire of Music.

Whist in Holland I worked for the Dutch National Ballet Orchestra, Amsterdam Baroque Opera Company and Noordhollands Philharmonisch Orkest.

I currently perform and record with many ensembles including the Gabrielli Consort, Hanover Band, London Handel Orchestra, New London Consort and Brandenburg Baroque Soloists. I am also the co-founder of the Monteverdi String Band and we perform all around Europe specializing in historical performance.

I have extensive teaching experience at prep school level up to sixth form but I’ve always preferred teaching at a prep school as you get to set up the foundations of the student’s technique and hopefully inspire them to have a long and wonderful relationship with their instrument.

I have been teaching at Newland House for a number of years, I have a wonderful group of students who prepare for ABRSM exams, perform in concerts as soloists or as part of one of the many ensembles that the school provides. My pre-prep students learn in groups and we have such fun preparing for our annual string concert.
