Drum Kit
Mr. Callum Smith
My years of teaching and playing experience in different live and studio situations gives students that study under me an understanding of what it’s like to work or play as a professional. In my teaching, my style accommodates for all students no matter what difficulty or level they’re at. Understanding different students learning habits quickly, is something I have come to learn from my own experience, alongside having great teachers.
I hold a degree in popular music and masters in Jazz, which I achieved a scholarship. My knowledge and information is extensive for teaching drummers of all levels.
In my live freelance playing to date, I have played at Ronnie Scott’s, The FIFA World Cup fans zone in 2022 (performing up to 60,000 people), The Champions League Final at Wembley Arena in June 2024, drum chair for Jazz in Jeddah international festival 2025, various London music venues: 02 Academy Shepherds Bush, 02 Academy Islington, The Roundhouse Camden, Somerset House and many more.
In recent years I have also performed all over Europe, New York City and LA. I use all of my live performances experience to motivate and inspire my students, and that anything is possible.
In term of studio work I have recorded in many studios from my own drum room in West London, Abbey Road Studios (where i recorded my album).
In 2026 I look forward to new projects such as performing at a large event in Dubai, recording my new jazz album and recording some tracks for Disney+ with the addition of being on set for filming a new series being produced.
I’ve been very lucky to see student’s achieve grades, performance achievements, GCSE/A level’s and entry onto degrees such as The Guildhall of Music and Drama. These student achievements also inspire my own playing and practice. As well as teaching and training drummers to reach their full potential, I like to inspire those taking on drums and use it as a fun and new creative outlook.
I also like to share my performance experiences with my students as another tool of inspiration.
I believe music is for all no matter what a student wants to achieve or where they are with Music or academic’s in general.
If your child would like to take up drumming lessons with me, or to try a sessions or 2 to see if they like it then please do get in touch.
I Look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Callum Smith
